Gita and her three siblings became orphaned at a very young age.
A family from the Kyiv region adopted the siblings. Her older sister turned seven, and her younger brother was only one at that time.
However, the adoption was only to use children’s labor on the farm and other projects.
As a result, children never went to school, nor were allowed to learn anything. All they did was work in the field, forced to sell alcohol and cigarettes in a basement-like store.
Finally, children had enough of this and turned for help. Their adopters got charged with a criminal offense, but the final verdict is still pending in court.
Later, children got admitted to their current orphanage in the spring of 2017.
Despite all the difficulties faced, Gita still dreams – of becoming a Make-Up Artist. And for this, she needs to catch up on her studies – Math, History, Ukrainian and English languages to make sure she passes all required exams and gets admitted into college.
Your kind donation will help Gita for years to come.
